Typography Reflection.

While I have mixed feelings about the outcome of the project, I think one thing that I am particularly happy with how focused it is. It does not feel jumbled or unpleasant to the eyes, and to my eye it is clean and pleasing. However I think that is also the area of my work that could use improvement, as despite the fact that it's appealing, it feels too simple. I think potentially adding additional patterns in the background of X's varying in size could have made it look much more intricate and complex.
I found that creating an appealing image using my letter was very easy, as well as finding the font that I wanted the most. It only took my two or three attempts to correctly implement the letter in the way I had initially envisioned it. However what I found most difficult about the project was creating diversity in the X's themselves. I had initially thought of adding different colors to have some variety in the mix, however I felt as though the black and red only worked with very specific colors, and even then I wasn't satisfied with how it was coming out. I decided that I would keep it simple, which means the completed project does lack variety, but I am content with that. I had only used basic tools in Photoshop for this project, using basic effects and simply changing colors and sizes. I used the Text tool, hue and saturation slightly and the stroke effect.
I think I was able to demonstrate the objective of the project by using my letter to create something visually appealing, to me at least. While it does lack variety and color in the end I think it's layered well enough. If I did this project again I would try to make the background layer more complex, because the top layers in my opinion look really good, the background is where it feels boring. That is personally the biggest issue I have with my Typography.
